- Holy Trinity Monastery: Perched high on a rock, this monastery is famous for its picturesque setting. It gained additional fame due to its appearance in the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only.
- St. Stephen’s Monastery – The most accessible of the monasteries, St. Stephen’s is situated at the lowest point of Meteora and can be easily reached by a bridge. The monastery offers an excellent museum and an impressive church.
- Photography and Scenic Views: Meteora is a photographer’s paradise. The dramatic landscape, the towering rock formations, and the monasteries perched on top provide perfect opportunities for stunning shots, especially during sunrise or sunset. Some of the best spots for photography include the viewpoints near the village of Kastraki, the area near St. Stephen’s Monastery, and the cliffs near Great Meteoron.
- Sunset or Sunrise Viewing: Â Meteora is famous for its sunset and sunrise views. Watching the sun set behind the rock formations, casting golden hues on the monasteries, is an unforgettable experience.
